Within the COACH BioEnergy project the detailed descriptions of several biomass related technologies have been developed by specialists. The generally 10-15 pages long, equally formatted colourful descriptions show the theoretical background, the practical implementation and the costs of the different technologies in detail, moreover they give practical recommendations to people interested in certain technologies based on former experiences. In addition, all technology descriptions are completed by a sustainability assessment, which besides evaluating the environmental effects of the concrete technology also provides information about the social aspects and the possible threats and adverse effects as well.

We are happy to announce that the 42 technology descriptions have been successfully developed. They can be divided into three main groups: production, provision and conversion technologies. These groups include further topics that are presented in Figure 1.

At the moment, the English summaries of the technology descriptions are available on the website of the project
by clicking on the menu “CBE offers (services)” and then choosing point “Technology descriptions and tools”. The full Hungarian text of the technology descriptions will be available from January 2012, as the consultation services of the COACH BioEnergy network will start at that time.
