CBE network
COACH BioEnergy (CBE) is a network which was initially funded by the Central Europe programme former Interreg B. It aims at promoting the sustainable use of biomass in the Central European Region. 16 different organizations from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany and Austria – supported by two Ukrainian institutions – have established this network between 2009 and 2011. The network’s objective is to gather and provide most recent research results concerning the environmental, economic and social aspects of biomass utilization.
Topics like the production of biomass, technologies of energetic transformation, logistics and transportation as well as waste utilization form the framework of the CBE network. Proven, up-to-date information and services concerning these topics are provided extensively: publicly available content can be found on the CBE website whereas the most detailed knowledge is available for registered CBE members via the 'Virtual Net'.
CBE supports both consultancy organizations and other public and private institutions working in the field of biomass utilization. CBE mainly provides planning and investment advice. Several services and technical tools aim at preparing and accompanying planning and investment decisions. The services and tools can be found in the website section “CBE Services”, either for free or fee-required. The Help section provides detailed help functions including an extensive guideline.
The CBE network is growing by number of partners and by geographical scope. It is intended to continuously integrate new partnering organizations to further improve the services. The current network structure and partner organizations can be found here.
