Wood heat plant Teisendorf
Name:
Wood heat plant in Teisendorf
Location (settlement, country):
Teisendorf, Germany
Brief description of the technology:
The wood heat plant in Teisendorf is a facility for the production of heat from wood residues. It operates a 600 kWboiler, and supplies a newly erected grid of 250 meter length with hot water.
The plant in Teisendorf shows a compact project with a very high density of heat distribution and economic advantages through the use of an already existing building infrastructure. The biomass boiler was installed in a former oil-tank room of the school (next to the old heating system), and one of the existing oil-boilers was used as peak load boiler.
The heat plant supplies a school with a gymnasium and an old people’s home, which are situated quite near to each other. This results in a heat density of approximately 7 MWh per meter grid length.
