Brief description of the technology:
The company produces organic fuel from straw in the form of briquettes (whole year round continuous sale of briquettes), as well as it distributes machinery for briquette production and shredders for straw. It provides training as well as warranty and post-warranty service, and organizes demonstrations of machines for briquetting. It also offers solid fuel boilers (biomass) from the company Moderator Hajnówka.

Why is it a „Best practice”:
For the production of briquettes straw is purchased from local farmers. Straw of about 15-25% moisture does not require drying. There is a possibility of briquetting the straw with other components such as waste after cleaning and sorting grain, grain infected with fungal diseases that is not suitable for feeding, etc. Earlier waste materials were dumped in a waste dump and decomposed biochemically. All that resulted in biogas emissions (mainly methane) into the atmosphere. Thanks to the briquetting plant, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced.
