Policy news from Germany
According to media reports rough cuts could approach the photovoltaic sector in Germany again.
In the night from the 30th May 2011 the coalition from CDU/CSU and FDP agreed on a roadmap for the nuclear power phase-out. Nevertheless, there will be no unlimited expansion of renewable energies. Existing cost cutting potentials should be exhausted to hold the EEG-levy (EEG: renewable energy law in Germany) under the current boundary of 3.5 cent/kilowatt hour. In future subsidies for photovoltaic application should be plunged up to 34% yearly. Further cuttings are expected on wind power in rural areas as well as on bioenergy. The government plans for the new approach in the energy policy have been harshly criticized by consumerists and professional associations for RES.
