Renewable energy sources for home and business
A project with the above title is being realised by the Foundation for Development of Polish Agriculture and the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Brwinów in cooperation with all Agricultural Extension Centres in Poland. COACH BioEnergy project partner Silesian Agricultural Extension Centre in Częstochowa is represented by regional specialists for renewable energy.
Renewable energy sources are one of the key point of „Polish Energy Policy to 2030”. However, policy of increasing the use of renewable energy, even the best prepared and supported by state, requires active participation of energy users in its implementation. Citizens of rural areas, entrepreneurs and farmers can be not only users but producers as well.
In this purpose efficient education, information and promotion campaigns are necessary. They allow to realise how much from existing potential, we can obtain benefits for environment, improvement of profitability of agricultural production, but also in creation many new opportunities connected with multifunctional rural development.
The main aims of the project are
- raise awareness of agricultural advisers, farmers and local authorities about renewable energy sources, which can be used in their homes and farms, while acknowledging of participants about importance of their actions through presentation of climate changes’ influence on rural areas and agriculture,
- complex and effective education and information about renewable energy sources,
- promotion of using of renewable energy sources as way for: environment protection, reduce maintenance costs of homes, farms and entrepreneurships and source of income, way for business,
- encouraging for replacing of conventional energy sources, innovative sources recommended by polish energy policy.
Effects of project implementation include 2200 direct participants, establishing of 314 District Consultation Points for Renewable Energy, training of 38 regional specialists for renewable energy. The project covers the whole area of Poland, its implementation period is between September 2009 and January 2011.
The main steps of project implementation are
- Conference for promoting the publication “Renewable energy sources and adaptive actions to climates changes in agriculture. Experience examples in the EU”
- Training for regional specialists
- Establishing of District Consultation Points of Renewable Energy.
- Regional conferences
- Final conference „Renewable energy for home and business”
Seminars and conferences should serve as the beginning of local initiatives for renewable energy. The network of specialist who work in Agricultural Extensions Centers should help further engagement in promotion of green energy in rural areas.
COACH BioEnergy established cooperation with the “Renewable energy sources for home and business project”, CBE will be presented by the Silesian Agricultural Extension Centre in Częstochowa at Polish event of the project.
