First Czech biogas injection pilot project launched
One of the COACH BioEnergy project partners - SEVEn Ltd. carries out first pilot project in the Czech Republic to inject biogas into the natural gas network.
SEVEn is a non-profit consulting organization that has been in operation in the Czech Republic since 1990. The mission of SEVEn is protecting the environment and supporting economic development by encouraging the efficient use of energy. SEVEn works with a number of domestic and foreign partners, including state authorities, financial institutions, industrial works, municipalities, schools, hospitals, and energy generators and distributors. The company prepares e.g. energy audits, energy concepts and energy master plans, and takes part in different EU projects dealing with biogas in transportation, energy efficient lighting or public subsidies for sustainable energy issues.
A current issue also in the Czech Republic is upgrading biogas to the quality of natural gas and injecting it to the natural gas distribution network. SEVEn works closely with the Czech Biogas Association, network operators and the Czech Regulatory Office trying to help to establish the rules and responsibilities of involved parties valid for the Czech Republic. SEVEn is also preparing a feasibility study of the first pilot project of biogas injection to the grid.
