At the kick-off meeting in Leipzig between 16 and 18 February 2009 the COACH BioEnergy project was launched officially.

Since 1 June 2009, Dr Ulrich Eimer of the Berlin-based EPC consulting bureau works with the COACH BioEnergy project team as Communication Manager. This function had been advertised by the Lead Partner as a tender for "external expertise", and Dr Eimer won the competition to be a subcontractor. From earlier projects at national and European level, he has considerable experience in international project management, and a very good knowledge of EU programmes and policies.
