Workpackage 4 and 6 contain the most important activities of the COACH BioEnergy project regarding the contents and future services. Members of the respective working groups met in mid March to discuss progress, actual problems and further steps. Venue of the meeting was Güssing, Austria, at the project partner European Center of Renewable Energy, which is famous for its „Güssing Model“ is the strategy of de-centralised, local energy production with all available renewable resources in a region.
Technologies to be assessed and evaluated in COACH BioEnergy
The list of technologies lays down the basis of the COACH BioEnergy project. The chosen technologies are mature biomass technologies available on the market of Central Europe, and suitable for beeing assessed and evaluated in terms of environmentals, economic and social sustainability.
Survey on the German bioenergy market now available
One of the Coach BioEnergy project partners, the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) – responsible for the evaluation and assessment of biomass conversion pathways – has recently published a study on the mid-term future of the German bioenergy market in cooperation with Öko-Institut.
COACH BioEnergy – a project for sustainable bioenergy utilisation in Central Europe – has come to the end of its first year and shows first structures of future knowledge management and consultancy.
